Linde is currently seeking an Instrument Technician I-La Porte HyCo to join the team in the La Porte, TX area.


Purpose of the Position:


Maintains all Instrumentation, Electrical, and Analytical equipment to assure maximum safety, availability and reliability. Assist in the development of daily work plan and assist in development of strategic plan for I&E reliability. This function includes all aspects of Predictive, Preventive and Corrective maintenance activities to support HyCO unit targets and objectives. Strong team player and visible leader.



  • Make routine, periodic or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdown of instrument, electrical, and analytical equipment.
  • Perform routine and non-routine equipment and facility maintenance as directed to ensure instruments, electrical, and analytical equipment is maintained in full working order and that the company’s physical appearance is clean, safe and properly maintained at all times.
  • Tests, inspects, troubleshoots and repairs instruments, electrical, and analytical equipment.
  • Set up and safely operate all tools and test equipment necessary to perform assigned work.
  • Maintains equipment associated with the plant Safety Instrumented Shutdown system.
  • Understands when and how to utilize external resources for technical support such as vendors, support specialists and engineers, contract consultants, reference manuals and web site tools.
  • Documents repair work and assists in maintaining documentation.
  • Procures materials, equipment and parts from warehouse and outside suppliers.
  • Maintains a strong focus on housekeeping in I&E shop and at job sites in the field.



  • High School Degree
  • Minimum 5 Years Prior maintenance experience with Instrument, Electrical, and Analytical Equipment
  • Minimum 5 Years with Microsoft Windows Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer)
  • Minimum 5 Years Maintenance and troubleshooting experience with multiple types of instrumentation, electrical, and analytical equipment.



  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Good knowledge and use of basic hand tools
  • Knowledge on reading various types of micrometers
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and utilize equipment drawings and P&ID’s
  • Strong Diagnostic, Problem Solving and Decision Making skills
