Linde is currently seeking a Lead CryoFill Technician to join the team.

 

 

Purpose of the Position:

 

  • Responsible for training cryofill technicians in the assigned geography on, loading, delivery and filling of liquid helium into MRI and NMR systems to keep them super-conductive. 
  • Minimize significant financial risk to Linde by training fill activities according to Linde and manufacturer procedures.
  • Responsible for reviewing and assisting with scheduling fill activities to ensure a delivery time that meets customer needs. 
  • Monitors accounts in respective geographic delivery zone, ensuring accounts are kept at a safe level of liquid helium.
  • Develop and execute auditing schedules and protocols to ensure cryofill technicians are certified to perform responsibilities at customer locations.
  • Maintain up to date LIMSS procedures based upon OEM filling instructions.
  • Liaise with customer technical staff as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee training of new technicians.
  • Evaluate and perform practical assessments on cryofill technicians annually.
  • Primarly technical support contact for cryofill technician with troubleshooting during fills.
  • Subject matter expert on Cryofill activities including equipment and procedures.
  • Key Technical interface for key customers.
  • Support Technical manager with setting and monitoring Cryofill KPIs
  • Back up Cryofill technicians as needed
  • Monitor customer's weekly liquid helium & liquid nitrogen level readings as reported in CMS (Cryofill Management System).
  • Assist technicians with analyzing trends in level readings to determine if a customer's magnet may have a problem requiring early scheduling.
  • Reviews schedules developed by cryofill technicians for efficient scheduling.
  • Must be on call 24 x 7 and carry a cell phone. Responds to emergency supply situations in the most responsive manner.
  • Interact with the customer's field service engineers to provide feedback or to answer any questions they might have about our service.
  • Evening/night shift/weekend work typical to meet customer magnet availability.
  • Transport and deliver hazardous materials in wheeled dewars weighing up to 700 lbs moving dewars.
  • The candidate must have no medical or other physical conditions that would prevent them entering an MRI facility.
  • Must possess sufficient strength and agility to transfer cryogenic materials from dewar to a MRI. (i.e. lifting and maneuvering heavy transfer hoses use tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers, bending, crouching and climbing.)
  • Must successfully complete specialized company provided training and demonstrate the skill necessary to transfer cryogens.
  • Follows ALL Linde Safety Policies including but not limited to proper PPE, proper lifting techniques, local site safety requirements, and prompt reporting of safety incidents.
  • Must be able to drive a straight truck and/or tractor trailer loaded with compressed gas cylinders and liquid helium dewars for delivery to customers on a scheduled route. 
  • Coach cryofill technicians on safe practices including the safe loading and unloading of cylinders and dewars onto vehicles using hand truck or forklift and record cylinder type and quantity.
  • Ensure cryofill technicians maintain neat, clean and professional personal appearance and maintain vehicle appearance in a professional manner.
  • Listen to and resolve service inquiries and complaints/issues.
  • Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections, document deficiencies and ensure all safety items are in good working order.
  • Maintains required DOT driver logs as needed.

Qualifications

Basic:

  • High School Degree
  • Minimum 3 Years Filling and Servicing MRI magnets.
  • Minimum 3 Years CDL A driving experience
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement.

 

Other: 

  • Candidate must have flexibility in work hours as late nights, weekend work and overnight stays will be typical.
  • Must be able to travel frequently >75% at times.
