Linde is currently seeking a Asset & UE Manageto join the team in the RTP, NC area.

 

 

Purpose of the Position:

 

  • Manage cylinder, valve, trailer and ISO assets at the RTP, NC location. Ensures that assets are available to meet future business demands in an expeditious manner to distinguish Linde Electronics from its competitors and provide Linde with a competitive advantage.
  • Oversees throughput of the Ultrasonic Testing facility in RTP servicing LifeGas, electronics locations as well as external customers. Manager ensures there is adequate coverage to satisfy demand within customer timelines, that related equipment is properly maintained, testing / shipping documentation properly completed and accurate cylinder counts are maintained. Ultrasonic testing is for cylinder assets valued at approximately $15 million.
  • Oversees throughput of the Valve Refurbishment facility in RTP servicing Electronics locations. Manager ensures there is adequate coverage to satisfy demand within customer timelines, that related equipment is properly maintained, testing / shipping documentation properly completed and accurate cylinder counts are maintained. Valve refurb delivers estimated savings of $300-400k / year.
  • Supervises and manages the external preparation team ensuring sufficient packages are ready for fill into the RTP production process.
  • Manager RTP Site raw material inventory, conducting monthly physical inventory, coordinating with procurement, and thoroughly investigating adjustments.

Responsibilities

Visibly and substantially support the Linde Safety Culture through proactive engagement and by making safety a part of every decision, both at home, and in the work place. Asset Management

  • Develop and implement plan to improve asset utilization
  • Analyze gaps in:

o Asset utilization by product line

o Asset utilization by customer

  • Implement MRP to ensure valves and cylinders are available for new business (based on business guidelines and levels of authority)
  •  Redeploy underutilized assets at the RTP facility to areas across the Electronics organization where needed to generate revenue
  • Work with plant and suppliers to ensure robust supply chain with annual spending of +$200k
  •  Review quality issues specific to valve types to recommend corrective actions
  • Collaboratively work with Valve Operations group in recommending continuous improvement opportunities  Work directly with sales and product management to support strategic purchases of cylinder assets in advance of new business

  • Assist and lead asset related productivity projects in respective areas.
  • Coordinate and control the design, approval, and implementation of all E&SG product labels at the RTP facility

Ultrasonic Testing

  • Manage 3 cylinder testers to ensure compliance with stated testing procedures and regulations
  • Schedule coverage and prioritize cylinder testing demand is met and cylinders are tested within the required timeframe
  • Ensure testing equipment is properly maintained
  • Ensure proper and timely completion of shipping / testing documentation
  • Raise issues to responsible parties as they occur
  • Coordinate with RTP Site Manager to ensure cylinders are delivered to / from end users as scheduled Ensure Linde owned cylinders are properly bar-coded prior to returning to sites
  • Chart and track process throughput. Develop methods through lean, 5S, and other process improvement methods to increase efficiency and decrease operational costs.
  • Track and manage UE profitability. Implement projects to continually improve safety, throughput, and margins.
  • Track and support the Phoenix AZ Ton UE test capability and support the operation as needed

Valve Refurb

  • Manage Valve Coordinator / Technicians to ensure compliance with stated testing procedures and regulations
  • Schedule coverage and prioritize cylinder testing demand is met and cylinders are tested within the required timeframe
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained
  • Ensure proper and timely completion of shipping / testing documentation
  • Raise issues to responsible parties as they occur
  • Coordinate with RTP Site Manager to ensure valves are delivered to / from end users as scheduled
  • Chart and track process throughput. Develop methods through lean, 5S, and other process improvement methods to increase efficiency and decrease operational costs.
  •  Track and manage Valve Refurb profitability. Implement projects to continually improve safety, throughput, and margins.

External Preparation:

  • Manage External Preparation technicians ensure compliance with stated testing procedures and regulations Schedule coverage and prioritize cylinder preparation activities to ensure on-time performance for the plant Ensure equipment is properly maintained
  • Raise issues to responsible parties as they occur
  • Coordinate with RTP Site Manager and Operations Manager to ensure production priorities are met.
  • Chart and track process throughput. Develop methods through lean, 5S, and other process improvement methods to increase efficiency and decrease operational costs

Qualifications

Basic:

  • Bachelor Degree 
  •  Minimum of 5 years in years in Supply Chain, Asset and Project Management and Operations in the Gases/Chemical Industry with Semiconductor Industry experience preferred.


Other:

  • Flexibility and creativity in developing solutions to customer and organizational issues.
  • Ability to project confident and professional image with customers.
  • Knowledge of Project Execution and Operations practices; semiconductor applications; customer products, processes, and applications; broad knowledge of Linde products, processes, and applications.
  • Fundamental understanding of change of service allowed for cylinder assets.
  • Ability to work independently, set work priorities, and self-manage daily schedule/activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of SAP system functionality
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Detailed knowledge of ultrasonic testing policies and procedures
  • Substantial knowledge of Safety and Quality strategy and Philosophy

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
